La Cata's Grand Opening!

La Cata, the first independent tequila tasting room in the village of Tequila, opened its’ doors on Friday April 7th!

Tommy and Choche kicked off the night with a handcrafted tequila cocktail using a locally sourced aguas fresca and after that… we dove deep into the wall of blancos, reposados, anejos and extra anejos.

The event was attended by many of our friends and business associates: David Yan (Global Ambassador at Casa Noble), Salvador Rosales (Owner/Producer of Casacahuín), Daniel Tuesta (Quality Control Manager at Partida), Hugo Sánchez (Master Mixologist at Casa Cuervo), Antonio Rodriguez (Production Manager at Patrón), Felipe Camarena (Owner/Producer of G4, Pasote and Terralta), Emilio Ferreira (Owner of Tequilas El Buho), Sergio Mendoza (Owner/Producer of Don Fulano), Guillermo Erickson Sauza (Owner/Producer of Fortaleza), and Jenny Camarena (Owner/Producer of Tapatío).

For the team at La Cata, to host such an iconic and eclectic gathering of tequileros as they sipped, shared stories and laughed was - figuratively and literally - a dream come true.

La Cata is committed to creating something unprecedented in this new space and we hope to make a large and positive contribution to the community in Tequila as we grow.

Here are a few snaps from our big night!

La Cata would like to thank everyone who came out and supported our grand opening event and who have helped us get off the ground. If you have not visited La Cata, make a reservation today!  La Cata is open every Wednesday-Sunday, 2pm-10pm. Reservations are accepted from one year to six hours in advance.

La Cata Tequila Tasting Room is less than two blocks from the central plaza in Tequila, Jalisco, at Ramón Corona 109.

Now that our doors are open we look forward to seeing friends – both old and new – over the coming months.  Salud!
