The La Cata Tequila Tasting Room is less than two blocks from the central plaza in Tequila, Jalisco, at Ramón Corona 109.

We strongly recommend our guests make appointments in advance to ensure availability and the best tasting experience possible.

From Guadalajara: We are an hour from the Expo Center district, and 90 minutes from the Guadalajara International airport.

Private Car: Our preferred private transportation provider is Experience Tequila . Private transfer from the airport starts at around US$45.

Taxi: There is a single airport taxis company, and tickets are bought at booths in the arrivals area.  Airport taxis to Tequila start at around US$60.

Bus: Two bus companies (Tequila Express and Quick) leave from opposite sides of the old Guadalajara bus depot (“La Antigua Central”), as well as pick up at newer Zapopan terminal on the way out of the city. A one-way bus ticket is about US$5. Buses make many stops and take at least twice as long as a private car or taxi.

From Puerto Vallarta:

Plane: Regional airline TAR offers two daily flights to Guadalajara, from around US$60, and Aeromexico´s daily flights start at around US$200.

Driving: Tequila and La Cata are a four to five hour drive from central Puerto Vallarta. Drive time can vary significantly depending on traffic conditions, and we do not recommend making the drive at night due to road conditions, livestock, etc.

Bus: Luxury-class ETN and first-class Primera Plus offer bus service throughout the day to Zapopan (the western edge of the Guadalajara metro region). From there, you’d need to head back 45 minutes to Tequila via taxi, bus, or private car.

We strongly recommend spending at least one night in colonial Tequila (founded 1530). While the town is pretty quiet Monday-Wednesday, village nightlife is something to behold, and we’ll stay open late for you!

Solar de la Ánimas. Tequila’s only five-star hotel is, also the closest to La Cata.  Restaurant, bar, two pools. From US$170.

Los Abolengos. A nicely restored historic property in the heart of town. Restaurant, bar and pool. From US$80.

Casa Dulce Maria. This classic family-run hotel is basic but charming, clean, and two blocks from the main plaza. Perfect for those who only use their hotel to sleep. From US$40.
