A 17-year veteran of the bar industry and craft cocktail community, Tommy Klus grew up running around the since-defunct Henry Weinhard’s brewery in Portland, Oregon, where his dad worked. He started his career at Portland Brewing—working on the bottling line, cleaning kegs, in dock sales, and as a technician—all before his 21st birthday. After many years of experience behind the bar, he developed cocktail programs for some of the Pacific Northwest’s most venerable watering holes, including Kask, Bluehour, Multnomah Whiskey Library, and La Moule, which he co-owns. With impressive certifications such as Bar Ready/Bar 5 Day and Tequila Regulatory Council’s “Distintivo T,” Tommy brings his passion for tequila to La Cata, creating a bar program that supports the educational ambitions of the La Cata team. 

“The La Cata experience is solely focused on the satisfaction of our guests,” he says. “We want them to come in, feel relaxed, and have their expectations met—whether they are tequila aficionados or tasting agave spirits for the first time.”
